O-Ringen in Stockholm
Publish date: 17 June 2025
Finally, it’s time for Stockholm to host O-Ringen once again. In 2027, the hottest accessories in the capital might just be a map and compass – because O-Ringen, the world’s largest orienteering competition, is coming to town.
The last time O-Ringen took place in Stockholm was in 1975. Back then, around 10,000 competitors took part; this time, the number is expected to be twice as many. Thanks to its proximity to nature, Stockholm offers both challenging courses and plenty of fun activities between competitions.
There’s still a long way to go, but as all orienteers know, preparation is key. Here are some recommendations for those of you who want to start planning.
