It may not look like much to the world from the outside, but step inside and you’ll find yourself in cocktail heaven. The bartenders at A bar called Gemma are highly skilled and mix creative cocktails with unexpected ingredients under the dimmed lights. Their signature drink with Bombay Sapphire Gin, sake, pistachio, ginger, and citrus should not be missed.Winner of Best new bar in 2019 Bartender’s Choice Award and third-best cocktail bar in Europe 2020 according to Big 7 Travel.

The cocktail bar Americain draws inspiration from 1920&#x27;s American ballrooms and hotels. Located in the Haymarket-hotel the bar serves classy and elegant drinks, simple dishes and offers an elegant vibe with live music.

Cozy Bar Apropos in the Vasastan district harkens back to the prohibition years of the 1920s and secret speakeasy bars. A light menu bar menu with snacks and Tarte flambé, beer, wine, and a mix of drinks that are both new inventions and reimaginings of cocktail classics. And if you ask nicely, the bartender might guide you to the bar-in-a-bar The Blind Buther.

The remodeled Rival, formerly a movie theatre, reopened in 2003. Although primarily a hotel, the restaurant is a popular brunch spot for Södermalm&#x27;s party crowd wanting to stock up on pancakes, eggs, and bacon after a long night of clubbing. Be sure to book a table well in advance though, as the bistro is almost fully booked every weekend.

Black Milk Gastro Bar

Black Milk Gastro Bar is an omakase-style restaurant where guests don&#x27;t order their food from a menu but enjoy an evening of smaller dishes being served one by one. The cuisine leans heavily towards Japanese but with influences from Europe and South America, and a drink menu designed by Hugo Örn, head of the bar at Stjärtilleriet.

Cocktailbar Coquetel Social on Stureplan is a classy, yet homey bar, serving wine, beer and classics drinks. If your behind on trying out a Whiskey Sour, Gibson, Daiquiri, Godfather, Cosmopolitan or Side Car this is a great place to start.

Corner Club

A cozy at-home feeling and friendly bartenders behind the bar will guarantee a great time at Corner Club. The bar’s creed is to keep things simple and to have a drink list as varied and dynamic as the seasons themselves. If you get hungry, you can either order a burger or snacks from the bar or go downstairs to the gastropub The Flying Elk.

Erlands

Café and cocktail bar in vintage style, where everything from the music to the bartender´s outfit is from the 50´s and 60´s. Although the ambiance most definitely inspires to ordering high-quality cocktails, you can also enjoy wine, beer, and snacks.

Goma is Sweden&#x27;s first Asian gastropub. It opened in October 2020, just around the corner from sister restaurant Miss Voon. Come for lunch (to stay or to go), an afternoon meeting, dinner, or a late drink. No reservations drop-in only.

Guldbaren, (The Gold bar) at the five-star Nobis Hotel is as elegant as it sounds. The walls and ceiling are covered with gold-framed mirrors and the cocktails are master-class. Hang out at the bar or relax on a sofa in the beautiful atrium right next to it.

Hernö Gin Bar

Award-winning Hernö Gin became Sweden&#x27;s first gin distillery in 2011, and in 2021 the company opened a bar at Södermalm in Stockholm. Focusing unsurprisingly on gin drinks and cocktails, both classics and new creations, the bar also has a light menu with snacks and smaller dishes.

At Pharmarium, right on Stortorget in the Old Town, the choice of cocktails determines the choice of food. Signature cocktails are served along with well prepared medium-sized dishes composed of seasonal ingredients and traditional medicinal herbs. The bar is inspired by Sweden&#x27;s first pharmacy, which opened to the public in 1575 in the area. Just as its first druggist Anthonius Busenius the owners have created a place of medicine, beauty and magic.

This old prison is a place to escape to, rather than from. Whether you&#x27;re looking for a nice meal or to party like a prisoner, with three bars and an interesting Stockholm crowd, this is the place for a night out. Häktet is also one of few bars on Södermalm that closes at 3 am.

Just next to Tegnérlunden Park, in central Stockholm, you&#x27;ll find Restaurang Nabo; a spacious brasserie that still has that homey feeling of a neighborhood restaurant. The menu is a mix of Swedish flavors, restaurant classics, great wines, and innovative cocktails.

Restaurant and bar Röda Huset (literally: &quot;The Red House&quot;) is located fittingly enough in the red building overlooking Sergels Torg from Malmskillnadsgatan. The drink menu is designed by award-winning bartender Hampus Thunholm and incorporates local flavors from Sweden like carrots, plums, and raspberries.

Södra Teatern is one of the oldest and most mythical entertainment venues in Stockholm. It houses a theater, live music, several clubs, food, and drink – all under the same roof. Come for brunch, a pre-dinner drink or to dance the night away.During the summer months, the terrace at Champagnebaren, with its unbeatable view of Stockholm’s inlet, is a safe bet for a picture-perfect date night.

Stjärtilleriet

Stjärtilleriet descibes itself as &quot;Östermalm&#x27;s most UNserious coctail bar&quot;. But the drinks are seriously inventive, with exciting combinations and presentations. The bar is located in Artilleriet, the museum restaurant at The Army Museum, and also runs a sunny outdoor bar during the summer.

Story Hotel

The spacious bar at the trendy Story Hotel is a popular after-work scene for the city crowd. A cool, jazzy atmosphere during the week heats up from Thursday to Saturday, when the DJs step up the beat. The adjacent restaurant &quot;Ling Long&quot; has quickly become a favorite among locals, serving creative dishes from the Asian kitchen.

Colorful, spicy, and good-natured – that’s the vibe at Surfers. It may be surprising from the name, but Surfers is home to an excellent Chinese restaurant. Inspired by the 23 flavors of Sichuan cuisine and 56 cooking methods, the menu is based on some fifteen small plates, and you get to choose which favorites to share with your friends. The gorgeous drinks feature Asian flavors and are worth the visit themselves. A sister restaurant is located in Visby on Gotland.

Surfers

At Svartengrens they love meat, but they&#x27;re not in love with the meat industry. That&#x27;s why you&#x27;ll only get served locally produced cuts from the Stockholm archipelago that have been smoked, brined, and hung by Svartengren&#x27;s team of chefs. Served with a side of seasonal vegetables, of course. The menu changes often, some dishes even daily. The restaurant is located in a former pharmacy and the bar is also worth a visit, with its hand-cut ice and unusual cocktails.

TAK rooftop

Tak (&quot;roof&quot; in Swedish) is located, quite literally, in the heart of the city just a short walk from Sergels Torg. It&#x27;s a restaurant, a raw bar, and a rooftop bar all rolled up into one. The menu mixes Japanese techniques and Swedish ingredients with a breathtaking view of central Stockholm.

A tropical oasis in the heart of Stockholm, Tiki Room is Stockholm’s only Tiki bar. Great drinks, relaxing exotica-music and a soothing atmosphere. If you’re in dire need of a quick fix of some Hawaiian-beach party vibes, Tiki Room is the place for you.

The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and a vibrant bar that has quickly become popular among the residents of Hornstull in Södermalm.
