Bastard Burgers

Bastard Burgers started off in the northern part of Sweden and uses 100 percent renewable energy from Swedish hydropower plants. The burgers are named after cities around the world and there is also a completely vegan menu. The branch in Vasastan was the first one to open in Stockholm, in February 2018. The restaurant&#x27;s rapid expansion has led to over a dozen restaurants in Stockholm.

Beyond Retro

London’s leading supplier of vintage clothes has a big store on Södermalm. Colorful, festive vintage clothes in a delightful mix of inexpensive and not-so-inexpensive. There is also a store on Drottninggatan 77.

Birka Bowling has kept balls rolling (against pins) since the 1970s. The bowling alley is one of central Stockholm&#x27;s largest with 17 lanes for classic bowling, disco bowling, and VIP bowling. You&#x27;ll also find a dart arena, karaoke rooms, and a sports bar serving beer and burgers.

Bodyflight

Who has not dreamed of flying? In bodyflight (or indoor skydiving) you get to feel what it is like to fly in free fall without actually jumping out of an airplane. You fly on an air jet in a glass chamber with a safety net below. Certified instructors accompany first-time pilots into the flight chamber.

Boulebar Rålis is located at the corner of Rålambshovsparken on Kungsholmen and a great place for a drink or two while playing some pétanque during the summer.The newly built restaurant is designed by architecture firm Bornstein Lyckefors and open year-round. Large glass sections reflect the shifting of seasons in the park. The menu offers classic French dishes and beverages for lunch, dinner, and brunch on the weekends. Perfect to go with a game of petanque, in other words.

At Fjäderholmarna, Craft Island offers small, well-curated workshops in silversmithing, blacksmithing, watercolor painting, and seasonal experiences, all led by local artisans.

Flatenbadet

The lake of Flaten is one of Stockholm’s cleanest swimming lakes. At the Flatenbadet beach in southern Stockholm you’ll find several jetties and a diving tower. The area is accessibility adapted with a ramp leading to the beach and the water. Nice walking paths through untouched nature leads around the lake.

Experience the joyful and magical world of Gröna Lund, Stockholm&#x27;s amusement park. A day spent at Gröna Lund is a memorable one, whether you dine in one of the restaurants, compete in the mini-games, enjoy a live concert, or go on one of the 30 exciting rides. Gröna Lund is open from late spring to September. The park is also open during the Swedish Autumn break and Halloween.

Hammarbybacken ski resort

A Stockholm landmark, Hammarbybacken is a popular weekend destination for many Stockholmers during the winter months. Hammarbybacken is easy to reach, either by taking the Tvärbanan-tram to Sickla Kaj or bus number 74. There are five easy-to-ski downhill slopes, a snowboard park, ski school, equipment rental, and a café. The Park Inn Hotel Hammarby, “Stockholm’s first ski hotel,” is located at the foot of the slopes. For the rest of the year, Hammarbybacken is open for other activities including downhill cycling.

If you enjoy the outdoors, the Hellasgården recreation area, 20 minutes from downtown Stockholm, should be on you Stockholm bucket list. Here, you can walk or bike along the paths, or swim by the sandy beach. For the sporty visitor, open-air activities abound, including petanque, beach volleyball, fishing, tennis, canoeing, and yoga. During the winter ice skating and cross-country skiing dominate, with a hole cut in the ice for the bravest swimmers. (There is also a sauna on-site.) Hungry visitors can head to Storstugan, where fika, light lunches, and vegetarian dishes are served.

Kiki’s Tour Stockholm

When legendary animator and filmmaker Hayo Miyazaki was crafting the world for Kiki&#x27;s Delivery Service, his fifth feature-length film, he drew much inspiration from architecture and buildings in Stockholm and Visby. Kiki&#x27;s Tour Stockholm takes you past 22 Stockholm locations that can be seen in the movie and tells the story of how the beloved director ended up in Sweden in the first place. Bookings are made on the tour&#x27;s webpage, and available languages are English, Japanese, German, and Swedish.

Lida Nature Reserve is located in Tullinge, just south of Stockholm. The large forest has lots of beautiful nature to experience, a lake for swimming – and a sauna raft! Several walking paths cutting through the forest. For climbers, there&#x27;s also a high-altitude treetop adventure park and a small parkour track. During winter, the walking paths are turned into cross-country skiing tracks.

Racehall Stockhholm

Since August 2024, Botkyrka is home to Sweden&#x27;s largest indoor track for go-kart racing. The track is 1000 meters, and 8 meters wide at the narrowest point – so there is always plenty of space to overtake! There are several different go-kart models for adults, children, and the physically impaired. If you get hungry after the race, you can kick back at the O&#x27;Learys restaurant on the premises.

An island where you can experience the remarkable maritime terrain of the outer archipelago. Sandhamn is the key meeting place for sailors and yachters, with a vibrant party scene during summer. The idyllic village, a historical sea pilot station, has an inn, hotels, the classic Royal Swedish Yacht Club, and numerous restaurants and bars. There are also many activities on the island like kayak paddling and bicycle renting. Sandhamn is also worth a visit off-season when the archipelago has returned to its peaceful natural state. Fans of Nordic Noir might recognize Sandhamn as the island where Mikael Blomkvist takes refuge in the Millenium series and as the primary setting of Viveca Sten&#x27;s The Sandhamn Murders book series.

Since its inception, back in 1978, the bookstore has grown quite a bit and today it stocks more than just books. If you consider yourself a sci-fi, fantasy or horror aficionado, Science Fiction Bokhandeln is definitely worth a visit.
