Fishing on your own - Good to know
- Fishing with casting -or spinning rods is allowed in the Baltic, Lake Mälaren, Saltsjön, and Stockholms Ström. No special certification is needed.
- Fishing in smaller lakes and streams is only allowed if you have a fiskekort-certification. Children up to 15 years of age don't need a certificate to fish. The certification can be bought digitally through iFiske.
- Common species of fish in Stockholm are for example Northern pike (Esox lucius), European perch (Perca fluviatilis), zander (Sander lucioperca), roach (Rutilus rutilus), freshwater bream (Abramis brama), and brown trout (Salmo trutta).
