Try out your fishing luck in Stockholm. Here's a selection of fishing tour operators in town.

The waters of downtown Stockholm are teeming with premium quality salmon and sea trout. As you pass by the Swedish Riksdag (the parliament) and the Royal Palace, you are very likely to see anglers standing in rows along the quays with fishing rods outstretched. Fishing on your own - Good to know

  • Fishing with casting -or spinning rods is allowed in the Baltic, Lake Mälaren, Saltsjön, and Stockholms Ström. No special certification is needed.
  • Fishing in smaller lakes and streams is only allowed if you have a fiskekort-certification. Children up to 15 years of age don't need a certificate to fish. The certification can be bought digitally through iFiske.
  • Common species of fish in Stockholm are for example Northern pike (Esox lucius), European perch (Perca fluviatilis), zander (Sander lucioperca), roach (Rutilus rutilus), freshwater bream (Abramis brama), and brown trout (Salmo trutta).
