Great cafés on Östermalm

For many Stockholmers, Östermalm is associated with affluence and upscale shops. The residential area has long been home to some of the city's most expensive apartments and townhouses, with a history that dates back several hundred years. This is reflected in the district's restaurant and café scene, as well, with many storied cafés located here. For example Tössebageriet, a beloved 1920s bakeshop and the birthplace of the "wrapsemla" and the modern classic Saturnus where you'll find arguably Stockholm's largest cinnamon buns.

And just like the restaurant scene, Östermalm's cafés scene has had a renaissance in the last couple of years. Among the newcomers is Mr. Cake, bringing an American touch to classic Swedish deserts or award-winning french patisserie Fosch.
