To the highest degree possible, family-owned and trendy Bistro Bananas lives by the motto “something for everyone.” The menu seizes upon urban food culture with precision – from incredible pizzas to three-course vegan meals. The wood oven and kitschy neon colors meet in an unpretentious setting. Outdoor seating lines the classic flatiron building on Skånegatan in the summertime.

Snabba katten

In dreamy, peach-pink premises on Tegnérgatan, Bistro Leoparden is managed by experienced restaurateur siblings Markéta and Jakub Vávra. Here, italophiles can enjoy delicacies such as Tuscan mortadella, Italian oysters, and ricotta cake. However, bistro rests firmly on two foundations: firstly, the artisanal pizza (baked in a special oven from – of course – Naples) and, secondly, the fresh beer. In true Czech fashion, it is poured into a chilled tankard to form a large, creamy head. At the same address lies the newly opened sister establishment Snabba Katten, which targets beer lovers to an even greater extent.

Gazza is a spaghetteria with craft pasta at its core. The menu varies, but can include anolini – small saucers filled with liquid parmesan – or ravioli with rabbit ragu, lardo and sage. They spend days making the foccacia just right and the espresso machine is, of course, imported straight from Milano. If you&#x27;re not one for pasta, stracciatella cheese, charcuterie and carne cruda are also on the menu, but Book in advance, because the room tends to get filled quickly.

In a short period of time, Italienaren i Gubbängen has become the obvious weekend-hangout spot for the residents of the Stockholm suburb of Gubbängen. L&#x27;Avventura&#x27;s is located on the premises of a former movie theater which is hinted at both in its name (having a namesake in Michelangelo Antonioni&#x27;s 1961 masterpiece) and in its stylish and grandiose main dining room. Started by cousins Davide and Enrico, The Italian Cousins is a great place for genuine pizza made of fresh produce from smaller Italian and Swedish farms and producers. Tosto is a new Stockholm restaurant shaped by Italian influences but interpreted in a confident, playful way. The kitchen blends traditional techniques with contemporary ideas, working with in-house charcuterie, slow-aged fish and meat, and fresh pasta made by hand each day. The wine list highlights less familiar grapes alongside global inspiration, while the cocktails lean on ingredients sourced from the kitchen. With seating for 60, a generous bar, and a lively atmosphere, Tosto is designed to feel warm, creative, and welcoming from day to night.
