Learn Swedish in Stockholm

Publish date: 5 February 2024

Learning a language is a great way to meet new people, find out more about Swedish culture, and integrate further into society. Here are some useful links to help you get started with learning the local lingo.

SFI (Swedish for immigrants) provides free Swedish lessons for non-native speakers living in Sweden. As well as the language, you will also learn more about Swedish culture and society. All instruction is free, and after completing the course you will receive a diploma or certificate. Also, check out SIFA (Stockholm Intense Swedish for Academics) which offers a wide range of Swedish courses aimed at economists, lawyers, social scientists, engineers, architects, teachers, and professionals from other academic fields.

In addition, there are private initiatives that offer language courses like Grow Internationals and Swedish for Professionals. Swedish for Professionals has also created a useful app which helps you to learn the articles of Swedish nouns by playing a game.
