SkyView - On top of the Globe

SkyView is the new world-class attraction that takes you to the top of the world’s largest spherical building, the Ericsson Globe, a Stockholm landmark.

From the apex 130 meters (425 feet) above sea level, you get a fantastic view encompassing all of Stockholm. The two SkyView gondolas depart every 10 minutes, and the entire visit takes about 30 minutes. Restaurant, café and souvenir shop are adjacent to SkyView.

Holders of the Stockholm Card ride for free, but only if there is room. No pre-booking.

It was just OK

Totally agree with Lee from Spain. It was not up to my expectations either - overpriced and not that breathtaking at all -15-20 minutes of ride for SEK 130/adult and SEK 100/child ticketI don't know if it was worth it. But my 8-year old son had fun and would have something to tell about his trip to Stockholm at school. When it comes to me, I would rather spend halv of the day in Gamla stan, on a boat trip or any other place downtown instead of waiting for our turn to get on a globe-gondola. Well, Globe is a cool construction and the idea of getting on a top of it in a gondola sounds exciting, but the sensation in itself and a view were under my expectations. Although it's well organized - there is no lines and you buy your ticket right away you would have to wait for the first gondola avaikable to go on the top of the Globe or you can choose a one that departs later in a day. We chose to wait for about 3 hours since we arrived at 12 and the first available gondola was at 14.50. We hanged around in the shopping centre (nothing else to do in the area) instead of taking metro back and forward. But that was obviously not the best plan - since we were told about the next gondola available right at the desk - that made us to take very fast decision. Would be nice to see the scheduale on a screen while we were waiting in a line of 5 people so we could plan and time our day better. If I remember right the last gondola goes at around 22.00. But unfortunatelly for tourists, most of hopp-on-off busses and boats go until 16.00 and museums are open untill 17.00 (Vasa, f.e.) so I would not recommend taking trip to the Globe in the middle of the day. If you wait as we did you may probably miss or perhaps be able to catch the last boat or buss - shame if not and you happend to buy your 24-hour ticket the day before and would not be able to take full advantage of it. Anyway, you can still enjoy the beauty of old city or walk along the waterfront - lovely during the summer time!

Not so good

This attraction is not at the level of what promises nor the price it costs. Please spend your time better in all the wonders that are in Stockholm.

Swedidish mathematics

If there is 2 gondolas, departing every 10 minutes and the entire visit takes 30 minutes, who has made the calculation? Zlatan maybe? According to information above, it is not possible. Or is there a pause in the roof, where people get out of the gondola?

Stunning view of Stockholm City and surround

April 1, 2012 - The mid morning ascent was absolute breath-taking trip. Even though the skies were overcast, one could still enjoy the views to various city landmarks enjoyed on previous days. It is an amazing venue.

RE:

Well that was Tuesdays 24.01. Evening, around 17:30 i suppose. Almost no people. Everyone who came had their own gondola.

Re:

I think Laura meant the word "Queues", she is asking if there is a long wait if it gets busy and how long you can expect to wait in line before the attraction. I too would like to know!
