Birka was built sometime between 750 and 760 AD and is today known as Sweden's first city. To this day, there are visible traces of the people who were born and who lived and died here. Birka is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites and going here is almost like traveling back in time. During the summer season (May-September), Strömma operates boat tours to the island.
