Vaxholm fortress was commissioned by King Gustav Vasa during the 16th century, as a defensive outpost in the Stockholm archipelago. Since then it's seen two wars, been demolished and rebuilt, and today serves as a museum, hotel, and conference center. The museum is open during the summer season (June-September) and there are several other activities here like a challenging escape room and a RIB-boat tour that starts at the fortress' jetty.
