The Riddarholmen Church

The Royal Court, Sweden

Stockholm’s only remaining medieval abbey, built in the late 1200s.The church is the last resting place of the Swedish monarchs and aristocracy, including Gustav II Adolf, Karl XII, Gustav V, and their consorts. The Riddarholmen Church is open for visitors between May and September.

The spire of Riddarholmskyrkan will be renovated between autumn 2025 and 2028. The church will remain open as usual during the summer, but the exterior will be affected.
