Eila Karisalmi - Show the Angels How to Paint

Eila Karisalmi (b. 1947) was the life partner of the Sweden-Finnish author Antti Jalava (1949–2021). This exhibition serves as both a documentation and a glimpse into Eila's and Antti's shared life. Eila's art depicts love, loss, and all the "children of Eila" she has cared for over the years. A lifelong artistic career that has unfolded quietly, and that now deserves to be brought into the light.
