Snus and Match Museum

Snus- and Match Museum

The Snus and Match Museum on the Skansen Open-Air Museum grounds, which takes you on a cultural-historical journey through two products that have had a major impact on Swedish history.

Here, you can follow the development of snus and matches from the 17th century to the present day, discover magnificent rococo boxes, carved snus dogs and colorful match labels, and learn more about historical Swedish tobacco cultivation. The museum houses both permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions that delve into the stories of industrial history, design, trade and the people behind the products. In the creative workshop, both children and adults can explore their creativity through activities inspired by matches.
