At its peak in 1946, Stockholm had around 110 movie theaters in the city and several more in the surrounding suburbs. Today those numbers have dwindled down to around 20 in the whole Stockholm-area, mostly multiplexes. There are a few single-screen theaters left though, one of them being Tellus in Midsommarkransen. Run by a local culture society, Tellus has shown movies on a regular basis since 1920. You can still catch a movie Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday. Or if you're not in the mood, maybe just grab a coffee and a fika at the café.
