The Wonderful Color – The Gothenburg Colorists in a New Light

In the 1930s, the Gothenburg Colorists flourished with their expressive colorism, unique in Swedish painting. Artists such as Åke Göransson, Ivan Ivarson, Nils Nilsson, Karin Parrow, Ragnar Sandberg, Märta Taube-Ivarson, and Inge Schiöler created vibrant visual worlds filled with color, movement, and personal expression. The exhibition highlights this celebrated and mythical movement from new perspectives.
