The Imaginary Invalid

The plot revolves around Mamsell Argan, a hypochondriac who is obsessed with her health and who constantly believes that she is suffering from various serious illnesses. In this version, the main character is a woman. The play is a sharp satire that criticizes medical ignorance and the healing arts of the time, while exploring themes such as madness, love, enemas, greed and family relationships.
