The Earth You Inherited: Monocultures, Landfills, and Eutrophication

What does the environmental crisis look like here—in the landscape we move through every day? Photographer Martin Kull explores three planetary boundaries through images from his surroundings. Bark beetle–infested forests, disrupted landscapes, and eutrophic waters are set against images of his children & grandchildren. The artworks are presented in custom-made frames that deepen the dialogue to the theme. The question that runs through the work is difficult to evade: What is it that we pass on?
