Inspired by Germany, the first printed Swedish advent calendar was published in 1934 by the Swedish Girls' Scout Association, now known as the Scouts of Sweden. The well-known storybook illustrator Aina Stenberg-Masolle was commissioned to create the illustrations for the calendars from the very beginning until 1964, and the calendar was named The Children’s Advent Calendar.

At Millesgården, a selection of these original watercolors is on display in a festively decorated artist’s home.
