Scapegoats

One August morning in 1790, the soldiers Strid, Rask and Tapper wake up after a wild night of drinking. Out in a shed in the barn, Strid's wife, the beautiful Ebba Amanda, lies dead. The alcohol has clouded the men's memory and shrouded yesterday in darkness. Their anguish over what happened during the night increases with every passing minute. "Scapegoats" is a tragic play about liquor and desire. About sin and guilt. About whores, sows and salted herring.
