Australian metalcore band Polaris has always dealt with the pain of existence and the struggles of the human spirit. But as a band they had never come close to the pain and the gaping void left by the unexpected death of their guitarist at the beginning of the summer. What has now become a quartet has step by step refined the duality in their music. The hard versus the soft. The brutal versus the melodic. The aggressive versus the calm. The gloomy versus the uplifting.
