Paulina Partanen - Rara Styggelse, textile sculptures 28/3 - 16/4

The exhibition Rara stygelse presents textile sculptures that want to arouse thoughts about the body, gender, sexuality and power. The focus is on the inverted mermaid, which is basically a deconstruction of the classic mermaid but here presented inverted, or the other way around, with the lower body of a human and the upper body of a fish. The sculptures are "natural" size and needle-felted in wool on a base sculpted from foam rubber.
