Opera: La bohème

A young woman knocks on a garret door, an author opens, and one of the most famous love stories of all time begins. Inspired by his own background as a penniless student, Puccini depicts the lives and dreams of two young lovers in 19th century Paris in La bohème. At the Royal Swedish Opera, the story is set around the turn of the last century in Stockholm’s Old Town with Munch, Strindberg and Kirkegaard as singing bohemians.
