Mozart in the Hands of Maxim Emelyanychev

The SRSO’s new principal guest conductor introduces himself to Berwaldhallen’s audience as a soloist in Mozart’s bright and jovial 23rd piano concerto. Being an early music specialist, he leads from a fortepiano, typical of Mozart’s period. After the intermission, Emelyanychev takes the podium to lead the orchestra in Rimsky-Korsakov’s colorful fairy tale suite, Sheherazade.
