Liminal

The Iranian-Swedish artist Sadaf Ahmadi presents new works in which she delves deeper into themes she has previously explored — especially the conditions of freedom of expression, and the situation of women and regime critics in her homeland. Using cast concrete as her primary material, she visualizes the immense pressure under which the people of Iran live. At the same time, with more expressive and painterly gestures, she opens a window toward hope — a dream of change.
