Fred Wesley was James Brown’s trombonist in the 1960s and 70s, leaving the “Godfather of Soul” for George Clinton, George Benson and the Count Basie Orchestra before joining forces with Brown’s bandmate, saxophonist Maceo Parker. During all the years, apart from a break in the 80s, he has simultaneously run his own groups. Broad-legged, groove-saturated B3 jazz with clear soul elements is promised.
