Etran de L'Aïr

In the hometown of Agadez in northern Niger, Etran de L'Aïr has made a name for themselves as one of the city's most popular. They started as a trio of brothers and have carved out their own version of guitar-based desert blues for over a quarter of a century. While other bands in the genre may have turned primarily to Western rock for widening influences, Etran de L'Aïr plays in a style with the myriad of cultural influences that can be heard in Agadez, from Malian blues to Congolese soukous.
