Richard Strauss was a master of painting vivid scenes in sound. In An Alpine Symphony (1915), we journey through the Alps from sunrise and serene mountain landscapes to a fierce storm and evening calm. The concert also features Grieg’s Peer Gynt and Britten’s Four Sea Interludes. Orkestern Filialen, with around 100 musicians, is joined by returning favourite conductor Simon Crawford-Phillips.
