Hassan Hosseini Kaladjahi's memoirs depict his class journey from a poor farming family in Kaladjah to his position as rector of the Art University in Teheran, through studies in Iran, India and England. It also depicts his participation as a left-wing activist in the Iranian Revolution which led to an underground life for two years, his escape to the Soviet Union, and then to Sweden.
