Book Talk: The Jewish History of Norrköping

Under the 1782 Judereglementet, Norrköping became one of three Swedish cities where Jews were permitted to settle. A vibrant community soon emerged, complete with its own synagogue and cemetery. Author Kjell Örtoft visits the Jewish Museum for a talk with Natalie Bloch on his new book, Norrköping’s Jewish History. Together, they explore personal stories and what the city’s heritage reveals about the Swedish-Jewish experience from the 18th century to the present.
