Two boat graves in Gamla Uppsala were excavated in early summer 2019. The discoveries revealed fascinating life stories and shed new light on the site's Viking Age history. At Prästgården in Gamla Uppsala, two previously unknown boat graves dating from the 10th century were discovered in 2019. In these graves, two men bearing battle injuries had been laid to rest, accompanied by weapons, several highly exclusive artifacts, and a number of animals.
