"text": "The group of islands named Huvudskär was a fishing hamlet, as far back as the middle ages. Situated at the southern reaches of the Archipelago, with nothing but open sea lying ahead, its inhabitants were mostly fishermen needing a simple cottage to sleep during the fishing season. After being burnt down by the Russian army in the 18th century the cottages were rebuilt, with the addition of a lighthouse and a toll station. Travel to Huvudskär might be cumbersome, seeing as it’s quite remote. But the area’s nature reserve, with beautiful and picturesque surroundings, is definitely worth a night or two at the main island's hostel.",

"text": "Roslagsleden offers hiking trails through deep forests and coastal landscapes, with several cultural sights sprinkled along the way. The 190-kilometer-long trail starts in Danderyd just north of Stockholm city and passes by places like Domarudden, Norrtälje, and Roslagsbro before ending in Grisslehamn.The hiking trail is divided into 11 sections with plenty of swimming opportunities. The overnight stay options are many: choose between shelters, campsites, cabins, or hotels.Three places not to miss along the way are Angarnssjöängen (Section 2) which is one of the county’s finest locations for birdwatching, the idyllic red cottages at the historical environment Wira Bruk (Sections 5 and 6), and the artist and author Albert Engström’s studio (Section 11), overlooking the Sea of Åland.",

"text": "Verkstads AB Pythagoras was founded in 1898 as a factory making mechanical calculators (hence the name). When the prototype for the calculator turned out to be a dud, the company pivoted to locks, candelabras, and electric light fittings instead, and eventually developed a hot bulb engine of their own which became the main export. Gaining some moderate international success, Pythagoras was an important employer in the small town of Norrtälje, until it’s closing in 1979.These days Pythagoras functions as a museum instead, with its well-preserved factory floor, interior, and various machines giving a unique insight into the industrialization of Sweden in the 20th-century.",
