Museiparken

Robots, space adventures, water rockets, and 11 different exhibitions. During summer break, the museum is filled with activities for curious children and adults. Test water robots in the courtyard, launch water rockets, meet the robot dog, and join short pop-up tours of the new exhibition Drömlandet. In Wisdome, breathtaking 3D space journeys await, and inside the museum you’ll find exhibitions for all different ages. The summer break program runs from June 13 to August 13.

How did a wool skirt from Dalarna become the start to an entire museum? What was this building originally? Find the answers in our short introductory tour of the museum’s history and architecture. Hear about Sofi and Artur Hazelius and how the first item they acquired grew into a collection of 1.5 million objects, even more photographs and thousands of stories. I Am Me! is an exhibition about the national minorities in Sweden. Jews, Roma, Sami, Swedish Finns, and Tornedalers are officially recognized as national minorities in Sweden. Through films, facts, and photos, you will get to know the five national minorities and reflect on what it means to be who you are. The exhibition is especially aimed at children aged 9 to 12. Closed on sundays.

The exhibition takes place over a weekend in mid-August, and in recent years, it has coincided with the Nytorg Festival. Each exhibitor has one meter of the fence at their disposal for one of the days. Here, amateur photographers and the masters of tomorrow meet side-by-side with established and classic photographers.

Since 1982, Midnattsloppet has been an annual August tradition that offers a running race experience beyond the ordinary! The 10 km long course is lined with over 30 sound &amp; light activities where samba dancing, DJ&#x27;s, fire, live bands and choir singing are some of the ingredients. The race always takes place on a Saturday evening in Södermalm where 100,000&#x27;s of people fill the streets, squares and bars along the course and cheer on those who participate!

Pipedream Experience is a collaboration between visual artist Siri Hagerfors and musician Erik Daghäll. The project is an improvised music and video performance, a fusion of sound and image that is created and interacts in real time on stage. The visual material is generated live, in direct dialogue with the tonal qualities of the sound. It is an organic process in which each performance is unique, emerging from the encounter between technology and presence.

Pipedream Experience at Stockholm Fringe Festival

Participate in the inauguration of the art project &quot;Blowing Figures into Space&quot; by the sculptor Davide Rivalta, a grand-scale installation stretching from Hagaparken and Gärdet to Mynttorget. The evening consists of an artist talk between Rivalta and Kristofer Lundström, during which the artist will discuss his approach to public art and how it relates to its surroundings. After the talk, you can enjoy a glass of wine and join Rivalta for a tour of the sculptures on Gärdet.

"Blowing Figures into Space" - Grand Opening

An afternoon in the park! During the opening of the installation &quot;Blowing Figures into Space&quot; by the sculptor Davide Rivalta, the Italian Cultural Institute organizes an art walk and picnic in Hagaparken with the artist. During the afternoon, Rivalta presents the part of the exhibition in Hagaparken with a guided tour among the animal sculptures present in the park. Afterwards, there will be a picnic next to the sculptures. Meeting point at Turkiska Kiosken in the southern part of Hagaparken.

An evening about firewood with author Lars Mytting. In a talk they&#x27;ll highlight the philosophy, cultural history and craft of firewood. What are the cultural and historical meanings of the forest and firewood? How do you dry your firewood quickest? What type of wood generates the most heat? What role can the museum&#x27;s collections have on the traditional knowledge of how to keep fire safely?

What does it look like to approach a black hole? Join science communicator Jonas Enander on a visual and scientific journey into the darkness of the universe. Through spectacular 360° visualisations in Wisdome Stockholm, the National Museum of Science and Technology&#x27;s fulldome, he explores how light, time and matter change near black holes – from event horizons and gravitational waves to the question of what the darkness of the universe can teach us about our origins.

Kulturhuset Stadsteatern invites you to a series of guided viewings that offer a closer encounter with the art and artists featured in the exhibition Embraced. On three evenings, you will meet one of the exhibition’s artists in a personal conversation about their work, creative process, and the ideas that shape the pieces on display. Each evening concludes with a hands-on workshop, where participants have the opportunity to explore materials and methods connected to the artist’s practice.

One Thursday evening a month, we keep the museum open with free admission. At restaurant AVI, it&#x27;s After Work with tapas and delicious drinks - a perfect way to round off the day with colleagues and friends. Sometimes there&#x27;s also a tour that you can follow.
