Many other artists, such as Anders Zorn and Albert Engström, often visited Bullerö. There are is a hostel and a sauna on the island but no restaurant or grocery store.

Mariefred also has a narrow-gauge historical railway where you can enjoy a historic ride through the surrounding area. The charming town center has numerous quaint restaurants, cafés, and shops.

If you're into architecture, the designer hotel J at Nacka beach and the beautiful historic homes from the 20th century in Saltsjöbaden are sure make an impression. For art and culture, Dieselverkstaden is a creative space and exhibition hall well worth exploring, as are 20 newly-painted murals in the area that will make your jaw drop.
For the outdoor types, Hellasgården and Velamsund’s nature reserves are classics that never go out of style.
