In March 2020, Tommy Myllymäki opened AIRA, a fine dining restaurant on the island of Djurgården. The acclaimed chef wants the restaurant to be worth a detour – a clear hint to those who know their Guide Michelin. The kitchen focuses on seasonal Nordic ingredients, traditional cooking, and flavors from all around the world. Choose between à la carte or a tasting menu, depending on how much time and money you are willing to spend. In June 2023, AIRA received its second star from Guide Michelin.

Rosendals Trädgård is one of Stockholm’s true gems! The garden café is located in a fantastic setting on Djurgården island and offers salads, soups, sandwiches and pastries made in the bakery next door. The café uses organic and biodynamic ingredients, a lot of them even come from their own garden. Many Stockholmers make the pilgrimage to Rosendal on sunny days, but there’s room for numerous guests. In the summer you can sit on the grass in the orchard. Don&#x27;t miss to pop in to the little boutique before you leave. Best way to get here is to walk from the bridge Djurgårdsbron, follow the canal and you will see the signs.

The Thiel Gallery is recognized as one of the finest art museums in Sweden and is beautifully set in walled grounds at Blockhusudden in the royal park of Djurgården. The building was designed by Ferdinand Boberg specifically to house banker and art patron Ernest Thiel’s magnificent art collection and was completed in 1907. The Vasa ship capsized and sank in Stockholm 1628. After 333 years on the sea bed the mighty warship was salvaged and the voyage could continue. Today Vasa is the world's only preserved 17th century ship and the most visited museum in Scandinavia.

The Vasa is the best-preserved seventeenth-century ship in the world and a unique art treasure. More than 98 percent of the ship is original, and it is decorated with hundreds of carved sculptures.The 69 meter-long warship Vasa sank on its maiden voyage in Stockholm harbor in 1628 and was salvaged 333 years later in 1961. For nearly half a century the ship has been slowly, deliberately, and painstakingly restored to a state approaching its original glory. The three masts on the roof of the tailor-made museum show the height of the ship&#x27;s original masts.There are different exhibitions around the ship ranging from topics like life on board and its historical context. The film about the Vasa is shown in different languages. There is also an audio guide in different languages, to be used by visitors on their own mobile devices. The museum has free Wi-Fi. In addition, there is a well-stocked shop and a pleasant restaurant for lunch and fika. Free admission for children up to 18 years.
