The film guide to Stockholm

"Film has dreams, film has music. No form of art transcends ordinary consciousness the way film does, delving straight into our emotions, deep into the twilight room of the soul.”

Ingmar Bergman

The classic single-screen cinema Skandia has been screening movies in Stockholm since the early twentieth century. It is undoubtedly one of Stockholm’s most beautiful theaters, originally designed by world-renowned architect Gunnar Asplund and adorned with works by many major artists of the twentieth century. Architecturally, the theater was one of Stockholm’s most original creations when it was built. The auditorium is designed to produce a sense of being outside.
