Springtime in Stockholm

Nobody is happier about the coming of Spring than Swedes. Certainly not after an especially harsh and cold winter. Spring officially arrives in Stockholm the 16th of march, during the equinox, but is usually visible 2 or 3 weeks later when the first spring flowers start to bloom and the first leaf buds pop out.

As March turns to April, and April turns to May, the patios of the city’s restaurants and cafés start to fill up as more and more Swedes leave their bulky winter clothes at home in favor of comfortable jackets and coats. With that in mind, it’s also the perfect season to experience the forests and parks of Stockholm spring to life again (yes; that pun was definitely intended).
