The Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities

Get acquainted with Asia at the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities containing collections that have few equivalents outside China.

The museum is beautifully situated on Skeppsholmen – a small island in the middle of Stockholm. It has an exciting mix of art and culture from China, India and Southeast Asia. Wander through the museum’s China floor and relive 6,000 years of China’s history in the space of 200 meters (650 feet). Exhibits from the collections now being shown include China before China, the Middle Kingdom, China’s Literary History as well as Chinese painting and Buddhist and Indian sculpture.

A unique exhibition of Inca gold treasures will be on display September 10, 2011 - February 12, 2012 in rock galleries under Skeppsholmen.

Asian Festival

The museum held the Asian Festival on 9/11/2011. I guess they do this once a year. Festivities were mostly outside but I also looked around inside. It was a small museum but very informative. I recommend if you want to learn about Asia, especially China and Japan. You can read more about it and look at pictures here: http://erikakimura.blogspot.com/2011/09/asian-festival_11.html
