The Association of Authorized Local Guides of Stockholm is a non-profit association with appr. 290 well-trained specialists of Stockholm, most of who are individual entrepreneurs.
As a group they have an extensive experience and can offer you guided tours in 29 different languages. When you employ an authorized Stockholm guide you can be sure that you get someone who is multi-lingual and who can provide you with an experience that is both pleasant and instructive. Authorized guides have been working in Stockholm for more than the past 50 years. Training of guides is arranged by the Stockholm Visitors Board AB, and currently encompasses two terms of training and this, in order to get the authorization, is followed by a written test as well as a practical test (guiding a bus tour). There is ongoing continuing education and the authorization is renewed after a review every fifth year.
