Fotografiska

Fotografiska is one of the world’s largest meeting places for contemporary photography. Fotografiska presents four unique large exhibitions and about 20 smaller exhibitions annually. In addition to the large exhibition, Fotografiska also houses a book and souvenir shop, a restaurant, a photo gallery. In the bar on the top floor you will find one of Stockholm’s very best vantage points.

We were in Stockholm in July. The Photography-space was good, the view was the best thing we had on our trip. We are planning next summer in Stockholm and Umeå and we will visit this again i can promise.

Robert Mapplethorpe 17 June - 2 October 2011

Robert Mapplethorpe (1946-1989) is seen by many as one of the most important photographers of the twentieth century. In an extensive retrospective exhibition Fotografiska will introduce Mapplethorpe to new generations and present him anew to the already convinced. Nearly 200 works will be shown, and many of them have never been exhibited in Sweden before.
